Columnspan change not drawing

May 26, 2009 at 11:51 AM

Good morning,

I have a large grid. 730x300. I draw an empty grid, then iterate through a set of records to plot on the grid.

when I do the following, I do not get expected results:

grid1[Y,X].value="Some new value to be shown";
grid1[Y,X].ColumnSpan=10;
....Views.Cell tmp= new ..View.Cell();
tmp.BackColor=Color.Orange;
grid1[Y,X].View=tmp;

I would expect all of the cells to the right of where I placed my rowspan to be either deleted, or at least placed "under", am I doing something wrong, or is it working as designed? do I have to delete all the of cells to manually?

Cheers!

What do you mean deleted or placed under?

When you set row/col span, no cells are created, it is still single cell at Y, X.

Maybe your grid is simply not properly redrawn?

I found a workaround , if at [10,10] I want it to span 4 cells, I delete from [10,11] to [10,13] ... then it looks fine.

The problem is that I need to draw a "calendar" grid, then add events to the calendar. I think it would be ideal if there was a way to initialize an "empty" grid to have the nice grid pattern without any cells ....

Thanks your all your help!
